The Blackstone Group (along with BP) is a member of The Council on Foreign Relations. Peter G. Peterson was Senior Chairman and Co-Founder of Blackstone. Peterson has ties with John D. Rockefeller III. Peterson succeeded David Rockefeller as Chairman of the Council on Foreign Relations in 1985 thru 2007. Mr. Peterson was also Chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and CEO of Lehman Brothers.
